Dave Wiebe — the hands behind Ground Up.

Placeholder copy the owner can revise later. A short, candid portrait of the person who runs the property day-to-day, why the property exists, and what they want visitors to walk away with.

Dave Wiebe (JUSTDAVEthe1) was born in Bangladesh and raised on the Saskatchewan prairie. The farmstead he's been building back to life since the early 2000s sits a short drive northwest of Saskatoon, on the same quarter-section his family has worked for decades.

What started as restoring buildings and equipment turned into a recording and production space, and then into a venue that's hosted weddings, residencies, and the annual Art in the Garden festival. Dave runs the studio, the property, and the productions end-to-end — booking, coordination, sound, lighting, photography, and the run-of-show coordination in between.

The through-line across everything on the property is the same: build it carefully, make it useful for the next person, and don't over-promise. If a project doesn't fit the property or the team, the answer is a referral, not a stretched booking.

Placeholder copy — owner to revise. The portrait slot to the right is ready for a hi-res photo drop; the bio paragraphs above are a starting frame Dave can rewrite in his own voice.

Placeholder copy the owner can refine. The dates below are a working draft — Dave will tighten the years once the family and Wiebe Works archives are reconciled. The timeline uses the same gold dot/rail treatment as the Sample Run of Show on the service pages.

Family Farm Homesteaded

Placeholder — the Wiebe family quarter-section outside Langham is established. Generations of farming on the same acreage, with the original homestead buildings still standing on the property.

~1985

Wiebe Works Founded

Placeholder — Dave's earlier creative practice takes shape under the Wiebe Works banner, focused on music production and visual story work. Built out the network of collaborators who still pass through the property.

~2008

Music Studio Build-Out

Placeholder — the on-property studio space is wired, treated, and calibrated for recording and mix work. The studio becomes the engine that pulls the rest of the property into focus.

~2018

First Art in the Garden

Placeholder — the inaugural Art in the Garden festival lands on the prairie. Sets the pattern for what the property can host: outdoor staging, prairie-light installations, and a crowd-sized main-stage run of show.

~2022

Multi-Day Residency Launch

Placeholder — the residency tiers come online. Artists, writers, and small production teams stay on-property for blocks of days with the studio, the bunkhouse, and the prairie site rolled into one booked package.

~2026

Expanded Production Services

Placeholder — the production services formalize. Music production, photo/video shoots, drone work, wellness retreats, and prairie weddings all run out of the same coordinated property with shared crew, lighting kit, and on-site accommodation.
